Carol was afraid of dogs, but every morning for years she would walk with me and my dog Black from our houses to what is now, da Capo Restaurant, in high heels no less! One day on our way back a large German Shepard named "Bear" broke loose and charged at my dog. Carol jumped in front of Black and told Bear "NO, go home", which he did. I remember all the times she sat with Black and I sorting paper work and watching Piroit movies. She was Black's hero, and mine.
