The precious little girl and gift - Amelia

There was a little girl, whose parents I went to school with, whose mom I had known most of my life, that had moved into the neighborhood with her family where I lived in Litchfield. Her name was Amelia and she was around 3 years old. She was the most adorable little girl, like a little china doll with porcelain skin, petite in stature, and big brown eyes. She would try to keep up with her older siblings and the neighborhood kids when she had the chance, my son was good friends with her brother. I noticed I hadn't been seeing her as often and I remember her mom telling me that she was sick and there was no diagnosis. I would run into her mom every so often and little Amelia would not be feeling well and there were still no answers. After I moved from the neighborhood I ran into her mom one day and they were still discouraged. I lost touch. But recently Amelia came back on the radar, undergoing a serious procedure to try and help improve her quality of life from her since diagnosed disease. Her battle had been ongoing now for 13 years and this disease was causing multiple, chronic problems in her body - but she wasn't giving up, no, rather she was looking to her future, with plans on being a doctor so she could help sick children. Amelia's brother David was a brave and honorable young man, giving of himself in a very painful way to help his sister. I hope he understands what a gift of love he gave that she took home with her. Death steals from us our loved ones way too quickly sometimes. But death is not the end, death is seperation of spirit and body. Amelia's spirit and renewed body now soar on the wings of eagles, rejoicing, free from pain and sickness with the other saints in heaven. Jesus now cradles her in His arms and will keep her under His wings of love. It is not what was expected or desired here on earth for hearts run cold and empty with loss. I pray that each thought of Amelia by her loved ones is a celebration in their hearts of the precious little girl and gift - Amelia.
