Jean Corrigan Jacobs of Torrington, CT formerly of Yonkers, NY and Falls Village, CT entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at age 90. Born in Yonkers, NY on March 3, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Lucy Corrigan. She graduated from Gorton High School and worked as a photographer’s assistant prior to her marriage in 1945 to the late David Samuel Jacobs. As well as raising her 4 children and helping to raise her 7 grandchildren, she worked as an assistant in various medical offices in her later years. She loved to travel, cook, sew, knit, read, and watch movies.

She is survived by her children, David Jacobs of Sarasota, FL, Bill Jacobs and his wife Anne Dranginis of Litchfield, Louise Silver of Torrington and Jean Correa of Bridgeport, her grandchildren, Megan Youngling Carannante and her husband Vincenzo, David Correa and his wife Melissa, Lauren Hoskins and her husband Andrew, Kathryn Correa, Timothy Correa, Kristin Youngling and Elizabeth Correa, step-granddaughters Charlotte and Sarah Zivic and Lisa Youngling and her great-grandchildren, Isabella Carannante, Bryce Hoskins and Benjamin Correa. She is also survived by her brother William Corrigan and his wife Eileen, her sister in law Gloria Corrigan, several nieces and nephews and many friends and extended family including James Youngling and his wife Susan Jordan. She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband of 65 years and her brother Maurice Corrigan.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Meadowview Ward of Valerie Manor in Torrington for their loving care of mom over the past 3 years.

A Mass of Remembrance will be held at a later date at the discretion of the family.
