Harwinton – Paul Jarmosik, 96, of Harwinton passed away peacefully at home on November 24, 2015 after a brief illness. Paul was born in Torrington, CT on April 3, 1919 the son of the late Walter and Sophie (Bruzik) Jarmosik. He was predeceased by his wife Gladys (Grosclaude) Jarmosik of 60 years.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII stationed in the Philippines. He began his machine tool trade at the Hendey Machine Company in Torrington where he worked for many years, the Barber- Coleman Company in Rockford, Illinois, LeBlond Tool Company, McCallum Motors all of Torrington and H.B. Machinery of East Hartford. Upon his retirement he enjoyed his woodworking shop where he made many treasured items for his family.

He was involved with the establishing of the Harwinton Ambulance Service as well as serving on the Board of Education for Region #10 where he served in the capacity of chairman for several years.

Paul is survived by his son Jay and his wife Nancy of Boca Raton, Florida. A daughter Lisa and Tom Richardson with whom he resided. He is also survived by grandchildren Jessica and Jocelyn also of Boca Raton, Florida and a great-grandchild Jaelynn of Boca Raton, Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Michael Jarmosik and his sister Margaret Robinson.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11:00am in the Alvord Chapel at Hillside Cemetery, Walnut Street, Torrington with full military honors, burial immediately following. There are no calling hours. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
