John B. Irwin, M.D., born November 9, 1923 went home to God on November 3, 2015.
After his retirement from the practice of OB/GYN in Torrington, Dr. Irwin traveled the world where he developed his theories for using vitamins in the treatment of arthritis and to improve the health and mortality of mothers and babies. John was an army veteran of World War II and also the Korean War, later served as a commanding officer at the US Naval Hospital in San Diego, California.
He was the author of many articles and has had two books published.
John was loved by his patients, but especially by his wife, Marion. He was the father of six children; Thomas Irwin, Karen Irwin Mueller, Jennifer Irwin and Johnathan Irwin, he was a beloved step-father to Marshall and Julian Morris.
Dr. Irwin died as he lived, in quiet dignity.
In keeping with Dr. Irwin’s wishes there will be no services.
