Obituary for Frederick W. Grohs Jr.
TORRINGTON - Frederick W. Grohs, Jr., 96, passed away on March 4, 2019 at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center. He was the husband of 56 years to the late Ann (Terzuolo) Grohs.
Born in Winsted, Conn., on July 16, 1922, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Hazel (Boice) Grohs. Frederick was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a Tank Commander and spent 4 years in North Africa and Italy. He worked for Union Hardware as a Tool and Die maker for 43 years and was a longtime member of the Masons.
He is survived by his son, Frederick W. Grohs, III, and his wife, Jane; his daughter, Laurie Romaniello and her husband, Raymond; his grandson, Stephen Romaniello and his wife, Helen Evans; and his granddaughter, Lisa Ragion and her husband, Kevin.
The family would like to thank the staff at Litchfield Woods for the wonderful care they provided.
