Shreders, Wayne Stanley,Sr., died November 18, 2018 at Keystone Place in Torrington. He was 83 years old. Wayne was the beloved husband to Carolyn (Bigos) Shreders for 52 years. He was born in Greenwich, CT son of the late Stanley and Irma (Purdy) Shreders. Wayne was raised in Sandy Hook and graduated from Newtown High School. He retired from Dresser Industries.

Wayne was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1958, played many years of softball, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Greenbay Packer fan. He enjoyed his Chevy Trucks and spending time with his family, friends and the love of his life, Carolyn who he often referred to as "Tootsie Roll". He enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison while taking his ride to get the daily newspaper.

In addition to his wife Carolyn, Wayne is survived by a daughter Wendy Shreders and her companion Wayne Stitzer, a son, Wayne Shreders, Jr. and his wife Kimberly, two grandsons, Riley and Samuel Shreders. Wayne was also predeceased by his three brothers Marvin, Alvin and Kurt.

A special thank you to the staff on the 5th floor of Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Dr. Handleman, Dr. Sunny, Eilleen, Lynn, Heather and the rest of the AMAZING staff at DaVita in Torrington for all the great care and compassion he received over the years during his dialysis treatments.

Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday November 21, 2018 from 4 to 7pm at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Rd., Litchfield. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
