Litchfield – Raymond Genaro Nuzzo, 84, passed away on March 18, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Stronkowsky) Nuzzo. He was born on January 5, 1934 in New Haven, Connecticut to the late Anthony and Theresa (Riccio) Nuzzo.

Raymond was a very gifted salesman in the insurance industry and was employed by several large insurance companies throughout his career, including UnitedHealth Group and Metropolitan. He was a Veteran of the United States Army in the late 1950’s. Raymond loved music, particularly jazz and the “oldies” music from the sixties. He enjoyed writing and published his own novel in 2000. He was a huge lover of animals and owned many cherished dogs through the years. Raymond was also very proud to have been Fourth Degree in the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his wife Elizabeth, Raymond is survived by his daughter Anne Levix, his son Raymond A. Nuzzo, a brother-in-law Ted Stronkowsky and his wife Diane, a brother-in-law Bill Stronkowsky and his wife Debbie, a brother-in-law, George Stronkowsky, a sister-in-law Ann Stronkowsky, several nieces and nephews and his lifelong friend Matt Longobardi. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph and his sisters Stella and Angie.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Meriden Humane Society.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 9:30-11:00am at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Litchfield.
