Obituary for Robert Thomas Bayley, Jr.

Robert T. Bayley, Jr., age 95, of Bonita Springs FL, formerly of Naples, FL, West Chester, PA and Aldan, PA, passed away peacefully with family at his side, on March 20, 2018. Born in Shelton, CT, on May 24, 1922, he was retired from the Philadelphia Electric Company, and living in Bonita Springs, FL with his wife Winifred. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Brinton Bayley. A beloved father, husband, and friend, he is survived by his sons Dr. R. Thomas Bayley, III, of West Chester, PA and wife Rena, John Brinton Bayley of Naples FL and wife Donna, Blake A. Bayley of Wilmington, DE and wife Renee, and his step-children Dr David Olds of Denver, CO, and Kathy Slayton of Edgewater, FL, as well as 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was a man of faith, and loved singing in the church choir. His favorite pastime was vacationing and fishing with family and friends on Bantam Lake in CT. Mr. Bayley was a Purple Heart veteran of World War II, serving aboard a U.S. Navy landing ship in the European Theater and taking part in the invasions of Italy, Sicily, North Africa, and Normandy. Interment services will be private at a later date in East Morris, CT.
