Bantam – Sylvia Hollister Roberg, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 4, 2017 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. She was the wife of the late Stephen E. Crosby and Theodore W. Roberg. Sylvia was born on July 27, 1934 in Shelton, Connecticut to the late Walter Pond and Lillian Mary (Wheeler) Hollister.

Sylvia graduated from Washington High School. She was a bookkeeper for several places in the Litchfield area retiring in 1999. Sylvia will be remembered for her strong sense of Community, Family History, and her love of the outdoors and gardening. Sylvia was one of the founding members of Bantam Historical Society.

Sylvia is survived by three daughters; Victoria C. Matson and her husband Kenneth J. of Bantam, CT, Dale A. Hirons and her husband Alan of Lebanon, PA and Almira R. Gravel and her husband James of Morris, CT, one son; Nathaniel H. Roberg and his wife Karen of Barkhamsted, CT, her brother Robert Hollister and his wife Jere of Bridgewater, nine grandchildren; Stephanie Fink and her husband Evan, Christina Gagnon and her husband Steven, Rebecca Litwin and her husband Ryan, David A. Matson, James D. Gravel, Jr. and his wife Taylor Cyr, Theodore P. Gravel, Jedd H. Gravel, Abigail M. Roberg and Thomas J. Roberg, three great grandchildren; Madelyn Fink, Mackenzie Fink and Baby Wyatt Gravel and her niece Karen Conklin and her husband Stephen. She was predeceased by her son, Walter N. Crosby and her sister Carol Conklin.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday December 27, 2017 at 10:00am at Morris Congregational Church, 9 East Street, Morris, CT 06763. A celebration of life will be held at her daughter Almira’s home following the church service. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
