Morris – Gloria C. Ruggiero, 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017.

Born on September 17, 1932, in Waterbury, she was the daughter of the late Michael Alphonso and Giovannina (Iorio) Ruggiero. Gloria was a graduate of Rutgers’s University, where she graduated with honors with a B.A. in Medical Technology. She later earned an M. Ed. at Southern Connecticut State College. She had been a teacher for many years at Duggan and Bunker Hill Schools in Waterbury. Miss. Ruggiero was a long time resident of Morris and active participant of Morris town boards and committees. She was a member on the American Association of University Women for many years, the Morris Historical Society and Friends of the Library.

She is survived by her sister Anita Miller and her brother Novello (Noel) Ruggiero, M.D and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Joseph, John and Louis Ruggiero, and her sister, Geraldine, with whom she made her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00am Wednesday, August 16, at Our Lady of Grace Church, Bantam Road, Bantam. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends and family may call from 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, August 15, at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield.
