Obituary for Antoinette Pikosky

Litchfield - Mrs. Antoinette Adella (Bierce) Pikosky, age 98, wife of the late Andrew Clark Pikosky died at home on July 5, 2017.

Mrs. Pikosky was born on April 16, 1919 in Cheshire, CT daughter of the late Edward Alexander and Celeste Edna (Lyon) Bierce.

She was a member of Center Congregational Church of Torrington, graduated from Torrington High School, and Schauffler College of Defiance Ohio. For many years she served as Director of Christian Education in various churches in Connecticut. She was also Librarian of the Visual Education Library of the Connecticut Council of Churches, secretary to Mrs. Forman, at the Forman School, and the Center of Information of America. She did volunteer work at Center Congregational Church, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital of Torrington, the New Milford Hospital and the American Red Cross of Litchfield.

Mrs. Pikosky is survived by three nieces; Anne, Carol and Christina, her nephew Ned and a grand niece. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her two brothers; Edward Lyon Bierce and Dr. Raymond Clark Bierce.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Center Congregational Church, 155 Main Street, Torrington, CT 06790.

Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 12:00-1:00pm at the Center Congregational Church, 155 Main Street, Torrington, CT 06790. A service will begin at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Cornwall Cemetery, Cornwall, CT.
