Beverly H. Kallgren

Litchfield - Beverly H. Kallgren, 91, passed away on February 17, 2017 at Brookdale Litchfield Hills in Torrington. She was the wife of the late Carl E. Kallgren. Beverly was born on May10, 1925 to the late Philip and Mabel (Long) Hayes.

Beverly grew up in the Boston area. She graduated from Newton High School and Wheelock College
and earned a graduate degree from the University of Hartford. She was a teacher in the Litchfield school system and guidance counselor in the New Milford school system. Beverly was a published author who enjoyed writing poetry, short stories and historical novels. She was a member of the Association of Retired Teachers, Goshen Writers Group, Maine Writers and Publishing Alliance, Litchfield Hills Doll Club, the First Congregational Church of Litchfield, and a past member of Women's Forum of Litchfield, and the Litchfield Women's Club.

Beverly is survived by her son Carl P. Kallgren and his wife Cindy of Goshen and her daughter Jennifer McEachern and Thomas Masterson of Millerton NY as well as her grandchildren Ian Kallgren, Alissa Kallgren and her husband Bernard Ebrahimi, Sarah McEachern and Matthew McEachern.

Beverly will be remembered as a wonderful wife,mother, grandmother, friend and cat lover. She will be greatly missed.

A private family service will be held in the summer.
