LITCHFIELD - Walter Horace Zwick, 90, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Benz) Zwick.

Walter was born in New Haven on November 8, 1925, one of eight children born to the late Edward and Idella (Root) Zwick.

Walter lived in Litchfield for many years where he was a dairy farmer all his life and avid gardener with much love for his dogs and many animals over the years.

He is survived by three sons, Ronald Zwick and wife Janet, Robert Zwick and wife Diane, Thomas Zwick and wife, Beverly; four daughters, Linda LaPorte and husband Keith, Nancy Gelgud and husband Karl, Wendy Wagner, Tammy Krone and husband Jonathan; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters and son-in-law, Michael Wagner.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 7, at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Burial will follow in East Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, at the funeral home.
