Donald Etherington of Washington Depot passed away June 11th 2014. Donald served the Town of Washington as town fire marshal for 44 years until his retirement in January 2012. Don was also appointed Forest Fire Warden, District Fire Warden and Commissioner of the Northeastern Forest Fire Protection Commission by Governor Meskill from 1973 until 1981. Don was past chief of the Northville Fire Department from 1981 until 1983.

Don is survived by two of his children Eve Miller and her husband Scott of New Milford, CT his son Jay Etherington and his wife Akemi Chayama of Belmont, MA, a sister-in-law Donna Wiseman of Gold Canyon, AZ his grandchildren Victoria and CK Etherington of Philadelphia, PA and several nieces and nephews. Rowe Funeral Home 283 Torrington Rd. Litchfield, CT is in charge of arrangements. Calling hours are Tuesday June 17th from 4-7pm at the funeral home. Burial is private.
