Obituary for Eugene Veillette

Eugene  Veillette
Eugene “Gino” Veillette passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 3, 2014. He was the husband of Gail (Pelkey) Veillette for 42 years.

Born in Waterbury, Conn., on May 19, 1951, he was the son of the late Benjamin and Lorettta (Turcotte) Veillette. Gino had worked for Towne & Aurell and O&G and was a member of the Teamsters Local 677. He was a member of the Veneta Club in Torrington, the Knights of Columbus, the Hot Rod Association and past member of the Bantam Volunteer Fire Dept.

A big fan of hot rods and stock car racing, Gino loved his family and was especially proud of his two grandsons who meant the world to him.

In addition to his wife, Gail, he is survived by his son, David and wife, Melissa; two very special grandsons, Nathan and Oliver; three sisters, Mary Ellen MacMillan and husband, Craig, Alice Pesce and Elizabeth Boisvert; and several very special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014, at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield. Burial will follow in Bantam Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, May 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield.

Memorial donations may be made to Bantam Volunteer Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 456, Bantam, CT 06750.
