Dairy Farmer and “Jack of all trades”

Bethlehem – Richard H. Shaw, 79, passed away on April 30, 2018 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was born on July 25, 1938 in Waterbury, Connecticut to the late Robert D. and Harriet (Ball) Shaw.

Richard was a “jack of all trades”. He spent most of his life as a dairy farmer and retired from Southbury Training School.

Richard is survived by his spouse of 30 years, Gale Kazlauskas, his daughter Effie H. Shaw and her husband Jeffrey Bushey, his son Ronald H. Shaw and his wife Iris, two brothers Robert Shaw and Wilfred Shaw, three sisters; Muriel Jackson, Lois Markie and Lorraine Evanosky, his former wife and mother of his children Georgina Girolimon, a former daughter-in-law Sharon Deering, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 4 generations of nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Richard Shaw and his siblings; James Shaw, Harold Shaw, Alan Shaw and Julie Bernier.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. A celebration of life luncheon will follow at 12:30 at The Bethlehem Memorial Hall, 6 The Green, Bethlehem.
