Obituary for Jennifer Heym

Litchfield - Jennifer Edna Heym passed away on January 26, 2018 as an Episcopalian. She is survived by her brother Michael. Jennifer was born in Kelvedon Hatch, Ongar, Essex, England on October 21, 1942. She graduated from Hollywood High School in Los Angeles, CA. Jennifer, also, graduated with a nursing degree from Southend on Sea General Hospital in Rochford, Essex, England. She began a career with British Airways, as a Flight Attendant where she met her husband, George Heym. Married 47 years, Jennifer traveled the world, lived in London, lived in Bermuda, and settled in Litchfield, CT. Jennifer worked as an RN at Cook Willow Health Center in Plymouth, CT. She praised her friends for their compassion and helpfulness during George’s battle with Alzheimer’s and for assisting her to re-establish her life as a widow. The family who lives in other states and in England, also, sincerely extends a heartfelt thank you to the dear friends and neighbors who received late-night phone calls, helped her with her cats, and provided groceries during Jennifer’s difficult last year. We honor Jennifer’s compassion as a nurse and care giver and we honor her love of animals, which was her charity of choice. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that a donation to the local animal shelter in Jennifer’s name would honor her life in this community.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 12:00pm at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. Following the service interment will be held in the Memorial Garden at Trinity Episcopal Church, 220 Prospect Street, Torrington, CT 06790.
