Brian H. Lanthier, 57, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Sharon Health Care after fighting a courageous battle with cancer for more than nine years. He was born on August 29, 1960 to Betty (Goslee) Lanthier and the late Donald A. Lanthier, Sr. He was a former member of the Bantam Fire Company and served in the Connecticut National Guard. He worked for most of his life in the grocery business. Brian was an avid outdoorsman and an animal lover. He loved fishing, playing darts, chess and bingo and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother Betty, Brian is survived by a brother Leon Lanthier, brother Donald Lanthier and his wife Barbara of Litchfield, a brother David Lanthier of Bantam, two nieces; Melissa Lanthier and Sue Ming Frauenhofer, six nephews; Donald Robert Lanthier, Jared Lanthier, Aaron Lanthier, Drew Lanthier, Alex Lanthier and Thomas Frauenhofer and many cousins and relatives. He was predeceased by a sister, Susan Lanthier Frauenhofer.

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 8th at 6:30 pm at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Rd., Litchfield. Calling hours are from 4:00 to 6:30pm prior to the service. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
