Obituary for Walter Jennings

Walter Jennings
Walter Roy Jennings

Washington - Walter Roy Jennings, 75, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Home in Washington, Connecticut. He was born on March 15, 1942 in Sharon, Connecticut to the late Homer and Mary (Pinney) Jennings.

Walt was raised in South Kent, Connecticut where he grew to have an appreciation for the outdoors. He graduated from Henry Abbot Technical School in Danbury, Connecticut and went right into Carpentry. He was a union carpenter for many years and really never retired but would always lend a hand when someone needed it. Walt was an avid hunter and passed his love of hunting onto his grandson Ronan. He will always be remembered with a wry smile and was more than happy to share stories about his latest trophy deer or the one that got away. Walt enjoyed the outdoors, bingo with friends and spending time with his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren; Kayleigh and Ronan, along with family and friends. Walt was hardly ever seen without his ever present side kick dog, Sally, which he took with him everywhere. Walt will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Walt is survived by his daughter Julie Jennings-Mckay, her husband Jason and their two children Kayleigh and Ronan of New Preston, Connecticut, his sister Mary and Ron Miller of Warren, Connecticut, three brothers; Richard and Carol Jennings, Homer and Carolyn Jennings and William and Nancy Jennings all of Kent, Connecticut, along with many nephews and nieces.

A private graveside service was held at Morningside Cemetery in Gaylordsville.
