Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Morris - Janet Helen (Miller) Weik beloved wife of Herbert Wilbur Weik, passed away at her home surrounded by family, on October 14, 2017, after a three year struggle with Cancer.
Janet was born on February 2, 1930 to Theodore Miller, Sr. and Mary (Martineau) Miller in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She was raised in Morris, CT with her 3 siblings Rosemary, Ted Jr. and Donald. Janet graduated from James Morris High School and The Art School of Fashion in Hartford, CT. She married Herbert on March 8, 1952. She worked as a seamstress as well as in retail throughout Litchfield County.
Besides her husband Herbert, Janet leaves behind her five children, sons, Kevin (wife Denise) and Rodney (wife Deborah) of Morris, CT; Gregory (wife Doni) of Soda Springs, ID, and daughters, Lori (husband Robert Margaitis) of Morris, CT; and Julie (husband Donald Parrott) of Alstead, NH. Janet also leaves behind 11grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister Rosemary. Janet is predeceased by her brothers Donald and Theodore Jr.
Janet was an active member of her community and volunteered in many organizations especially her church. She loved crafting of all sorts. Crochet work was her favorite interest.
The funeral service will be held at the Morris Congregational Church on Sunday October 22, at 1:00pm, with a gathering immediately following at the Morris Town Hall. Burial will be private at the East Morris Cemetery following the service.
The family would like to thank all of her wonderful caregivers at Smilow Cancer Center and VNS of CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center, 200 Kennedy Drive, Torrington, CT 06790.
