Bethlehem - Ruth Helen (Henrich) Howland, 88, of Bethlehem, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Wolcott Hall in Torrington, CT. Ruth Howland was born in New York City, on October 7, 1929. She grew up in New York City and Kent, CT.

Ruth loved to cook and enjoyed reading, knitting, doll collecting and building dollhouses. She was also a Certified Nurse Assistant and enjoyed helping others. Ruth drove a School bus for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sidney Howland, daughter Jill and son Matthew and brother James Henrich. Survivors include her son Jeffrey (Marita) Howland, grandsons Ehren, Shawn, and Kevin Howland of SC, son Sidney Howland of New Milford, CT. Also surviving is her brother Kenneth Henrich, his wife Judy of Bantam, CT, niece Bonnie Stewart, husband Dave of Harwinton, CT., and numerous cousins.

A graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at 12:30pm Sherman North Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
