Torrington – Janet I. Bruno, 73, passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2017. She was the wife of the late Lawrence A. Bruno, Sr. Janet was born on April 2, 1944 in Torrington, CT to the late Oscar and Ida (DeMichael) Rentz.

She enjoyed creating arts and crafts. She was a lover of animals and spending time on the beach of Cape Cod. Most important to her was spending quality time with her family.

Janet is survived by her son Lawrence A. Bruno, Jr and his wife Omayra Vega-Bruno, her daughter Samantha Scanlon and her husband Robert, three grandchildren; Mikhail, Jaylene and Mason and her brother Dennis Rentz.

In addition to her husband, Lawrence and parents, Oscar and Ida, she was predeceased by her beloved Aunt Roberta Keesler.

In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Little Guild of St. Francis, 285 Sharon Goshen Turnpike, West Cornwall, CT 06796.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. A service will begin at 1:30pm. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, 76 Walnut Street, Torrington, CT 06790.
