Obituary for Frank Walter Pokrinchak

Frank Walter Pokrinchak of Torrington, Connecticut passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at Hartford Hospital after a short illness. His family was by his side.

He was born April 30, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Frank and Genevieve “Jenny” (Sienkiewicz) Pokrinchak. Frank was dedicated to his family and his church, Center Congregational Church of Torrington. He reveled in his hobby of garden railroads and transformed part of his yard into the Naugatuck Valley Railroad. He was always pleased to share his trains with friends and children. He also enjoyed vacations with his family and meeting new friends as he traveled, especially Mickey Mouse when traveling to Disney World.

Frank enjoyed a forty-five-year career in manufacturing consulting, working with corporations nationwide and assisting them in implementing new software to run their businesses. He was most successful, winning several awards from his employers as he educated his clients in ways to operate more efficiently and profitably.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Barrow), his daughter Marie Morris and her husband Timothy of Stratford, CT; son Frank Joseph Pokrinchak and his wife Elisabeth of New Haven, CT; daughter Melissa Goldring and her husband Robert of Fairfield, CT; son Seth Brickman of Bloomfield, CT; and his grandchildren , Jordan and Kaila Malkiel and Max and Sara Goldring, and Sebastian Pokrinchak. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Michael Pokrinchak, Sr.
Visitation will be at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, on Thursday September 14, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Center Congregational Church, 155 Main Street, Torrington. Final prayers and committal will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 76 Walnut Street, Torrington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Center Congregational Church.
