World War II Veteran

Northfield - Clarence (Clem) J Lasky of Northfield and Waterbury passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017. He was born in Waterbury, CT on June 20, 1925 to the late Charles & Frances Kvarciejus Lasky.

Clem was a graduate of Duggan School of Leavenworth High School. He was extremely proud of the fact that he was a WWII veteran. He entered the Army Air Corp on September 15, 1943. His army career was the CBI; China, Burma, and India. After serving in WWII, he came back to Waterbury, CT and worked 32 years for Somers Thin Strip. He was married 59 years to his wife Margaret Cameron Lasky and raised his family in Waterbury before moving to Northfield in 2008.

Besides his wife he is survived by his four sons and daughters-in-law; Albert and Michelle Lasky of Waterbury, Edward and Kim Lasky of Northfield, Kenneth and Lisa Lasky of Waterbury, and David and Patti Lasky of Portland, CT, Thirteen grandchildren; Mark, Brian, Colleen, Michael, Darren, Anthony, Jennifer, Shawn, Brenda, Morgan, Samantha, Jamison Lasky & Kenneth Bond, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a sister Frances Knauf. He was predeceased by his brothers Charles, Edward and Vincent Lasky, and his sisters Della Strokalaitis, Ella Fenn, Ann Adomaitis, and Edna Pixley.

The family wishes to thank the nurses from Torrington VNS especially Laura Galvin, the staff at Wolcott View Manor and the VITAS unit at Saint Mary’s.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday September 23, at 10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua, 49 South Street, Litchfield, with burial following at St. Anthony’s Cemetery with military honors. Friends are invited to call Saturday 9:00 to 9:45am at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield.
