Obituary for Edward George Mirabella

Edward George  Mirabella
Litchfield – Edward George Mirabella, 90, passed away on May 20, 2017 at home in Litchfield. He was the husband of Jeanne (Scagnelli) Mirabella. Ed was born on November 19, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Anthony and Rosalie (Benfonte) Mirabella.

Ed attended Abraham Lincoln High in Brooklyn New York, upon graduation he joined the U.S. Navy as a Fire Control Tech on board the U.S.S. Seminole Kaious which served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was self employed as a Real Estate agent and Builder. Ed was a member of the Aircraft owner and pilots Association and owned and operated his own Piper Cherokee. He was an avid boater and fisherman often switching between power and sailboats. His other interested included woodworking, building grandfather clocks and he also had two boats to his credit.

In addition to his wife, Jeanne of 68 years, he is survived by three children; Eileen Saunders and her husband Tom, Linda Torres and Thomas Mirabella and his wife Zelda, his brother Albert Mirabella and his wife Joanne, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 1:30pm at Our Lady of Grace Church, 715 Bantam Road, Bantam, CT 06750. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. Friends and family may call prior to mass at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, CT 06759 from 11:30am-1:00pm.
