Bantam - Catherine Ainger (Zenowich) died peacefully, after a long illness, on January 20, 2017. Born in Bantam she and her husband, Raymond, embarked a life of adventure as they resided in numerous states as well as overseas before retiring and returning to Bantam.

Catherine was proud to have had a career as a hospital Registered Nurse before devoting her life to raising her children and supporting her husband’s career. Her gentle nurturing strength, witty and sarcastic sense of humor, combined with her instinctive and sensible intellect will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to acknowledge Catherine’s home hospice care RN and CNA for their crucial role in assisting to fulfill Catherine’s wish to live at home throughout her illness. We would like to thank Leigh Ganung, RN for her kind and exceptionally competent professionalism, and Helen Haskell, CNA for her tireless attentiveness, devotion, and gentle care.

Catherine is the last of her siblings and is survived by her four children, three grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours and the burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bantam Fire Department, Bantam, CT.
