Morris - Frederick Charles Neri, 81, passed away on October 8, 2016 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was the husband of 54 years to Marguerite (Williams) Neri. He was born on June 12, 1935 in Torrington, Connecticut to the late Joseph and Maddalena (DiCicco) Neri.

Frederick was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and worked as an assistant manager in the retail grocery business for over 50 years. He was actively involved in the local government in Morris for over 40 years having served as a member of the board of finance and as a town selectman. Fred was a thoughtful, generous, loving man who gave freely of his time to helping others. He was able to find humor in almost every situation. He had many interests, but particularly enjoyed spending time at the Cape with his family.

In addition to his wife Marge of Morris, CT, he is survived by two daughters: Carrie Neri and her boyfriend Charles Carron of Salem, CT, Michelle Polk and her husband Nickolas of Georgia, his son, Mark and his wife Kathy of South Windsor, CT and six grandchildren: Joseph, Julie, Jennifer and James Neri and Madelaina and Michaela Polk.

Frederick was predeceased by his seven siblings: Anna Pradetto, Beatrice Winegan, Anthony, Ralph, Pasquale and John Neri and Josephine Dugay.

Friends and family may call on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 4:00-7:00pm at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.
