Obituary for Marion Jean Irwin

Marion Irwin
Litchfield

Born, Marion Jean Holzmann, on January 23, 1935, Marion Jean Morris-Irwin passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of July 4, 2016. She was a wife and homemaker to Dr. John B. Irwin who passed away eight months earlier. Mom wanted her immediate and extended family, grandchildren, lifetime friends, Red Hat ladies, and Jean M. to know how important you all were in her life. It has been several weeks since she made the brave decision to gracefully say her goodbyes after electing not to proceed with treatment for her lymphoma/leukemia, but chose instead to enjoy the time remaining with her two sons; Marshall and Julian Morris.

We have included some information to offer a glimpse into Marion’s life we hope will bring you a smile:

Marion worked for the original Lipton Tea Company, she was recruited for the CIA (no kidding), recorded several country music singles on 78 rpm records circa 1955, she began college after age 40 and earned a masters plus sixth year degree in psychology graduating with honors and performed volunteer duties for: Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Health System Agency, Connecticut Junior Republic and made reading fun for local elementary students.
