Obituary for Vivian Corrine Carr Adkins
Vivian C. Adkins
Litchfield – Vivian C. Adkins, 84, passed away at home on December 31, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of 61 years to Raymond H. Adkins. Vivian was born on May 26, 1931 in Torrington, CT to the late Leonard and Metta (Rosenbeck) Carr.
Vivian was a Torrington High School graduate. She graduated college from Clara Maass School of Nursing in Newark, NJ class of 1955. She was an RN, and the administrator at Fernwood Rest Home, Inc. for 35 years. She recently retired in 2014. Vivian was one of the founding members of the Association for Residential Care Homes. She was a confirmand of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Torrington.
In addition to her husband, Raymond of Litchfield, Vivian is survived by a sister Mrs. Carol Grech of Harwinton, CT, four children; Karyn, Brent, Kristyn and Brad and their spouses, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
No services have been planned at this time.
