Obituary for Ralph H. Jaeger Jr.

Ralph H. Jaeger Jr.
He is gone but not forgotten. RJ Hog is now free to walk and ride again. His time with us on earth ended peacefully on March 27th 2015 surrounded by family & love. RJ always held a special place in his heart for Roxbury where he grew up and attended school. Although he worked at Aerospace and the D.O.T his true passion was for automobiles and anything that grew. His love of gardening especially flowers filled our yard and several others in Washington with delightful textures and colors all season. RJ may not have been a sharped dressed man but he was a diehard rock ‘n’ roll fan. His idea of a good Sunday afternoon was to put on a little ZZTopp or Thorogood then sit back and watch Danica at a NASCAR race. He felt honored that he was able to spend time at the dragstrip with his buddies from Mohegan Sun Racing. Nothing like the smell of burnt rubber! Thanks Paul. The Antique Truck Club was also a big part of his retirement. He was seen at many truck events with “Hope” his blue Kenworth. For many years he said he was going to use his big truck to just ride in. And that dream came true. Ralph always reminded people “Don’t wait to retire.” He didn’t and I am so very glad he followed his own advice. He retired at 62 and never looked back. He fulfilled most of his bucket list including taking in cruise in 2012.Let me tell you he terrorized the ship on his scooter! If it had wheels he could drive it although sometimes not too well. The garage door and truck fenders were victims of his lead foot. But he always loved his “classic” vehicles. Summer evenings were spent visiting cruise nights across the state.

So please be sure to join family & friends on June 14th at Michelle & Tim Stuarts in Roxbury. They had the best of everything for him right in their front yard. Good company, good burgers, beautiful flowers and welcoming arms. He just adored that place.
Walk in peace my dear sweet man but always keep the engine running.

Left behind to cherish his memory, Jane Sparks his life companion, brother John, sister Judy, nephew Marc, and niece Sarah. The Massucco cousins of VT, and The Sparks Family of Bantam. Also special friends that are just like family Dave Lawlor, Karen Trowbridge, Marie Swanson & Stacey Ranieri.
