Obituary for W. Alain Terrell

W. Alain Terrell age 104, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, nine days shy of his 105th birthday. He was the husband of the late Mildred LaBounty Terrell. Born in Morris, to the late Franklin and Phoebe Nettie Benedict Terrell, He attended local schools and graduated from Litchfield High School where he played Baseball, Basketball, Football and the Violin.

Mr. Terrell spent his lifetime farming, first on his family’s farm and later on his own Hereford Haven Beef Cattle farm which was on Curtiss Hill Road.

Alain was for many years the oldest participant in the Bob Andrulis Memorial Sweetheart Run and Walk.

Mr. Terrell is survived by a son, Franklin Pierce Terrell, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and eleven great, great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Gwenda Louise Terrell Taylor and a very special friend, Hazel Koch.

A memorial service will be held Dec. 6, 2014 at 11:00am at the Morris Congregational Church. Private interment will take place in Bantam Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
