Amelia Ann  Vincenzi
Amelia Ann Vincenzi, 16, of Litchfield born on October 3, 1996, passed away on September, 21, 2013 at Boston Children’s Hospital due to a chronic autoimmune disease, CVID. She was the daughter of Lisa (Filippini) and David Vincenzi, and sister to David Jr. and Marissa, and beloved dog, Basil. Her paternal grandparents are Santo and Ruth Vincenzi of Litchfield, and maternal grandparents, Ronald and Joanna Filippini of Litchfield. She also has aunts and uncles, Jay and Pam Cilfone, Joe and Anne Marie Filippini, Tom and Laurie Filippini, and Mark and Kim Vincenzi, and cousins, Melanie, Victoria and husband Henry, Kai, Christopher, Tommy, Theresa, and Joe, along with many extended family and friends.

Amelia was a strong young woman full of life and beauty. She aspired to be a nurse to make a difference in children’s lives as well as all of those around her. She was always joking and always had a smile on, enjoyed baking and won a few local baking contests. Amelia also enjoyed dance, photography, and being surrounded by her family and friends. Throughout her life she was an inspiration to many through her determined spirit and her caring actions. Amelia was courageous and brave with such a creative spirit, and blessed so many people with her kindness and warm heart.

In remembrance of her, family and friends will gather on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, from 4 pm-7 pm at Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning at 11:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 49 South Street, Litchfield. Burial will be private.

The family wishes to thank Dr. J. Nathan Hagstrom of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center who was with her throughout her journey, as well as Amanda Zuse, APRN, her favorite nurse, Jeannie, and her doctors and nurses at Boston Children’s Hospital. There will also be a fundraiser in support of the family on Saturday, September, 28, 2013 at the Bantam Firehouse from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
