Ethel S. (White) Iffland, age 91, of Litchfield, a longtime Torrington resident, died Tuesday September 18, 2012. She was the wife of sixty-nine years of Ralph Iffland.

Ethel was born and raised in Torrrington daughter of the late John and Selma (Abrahamson) White. She worked for her father for many years at the John White Plumbing and Heating Co. and later worked for the Turner & Seymour, Co. She was also a past president of the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Women’s Auxiliary. She and her husband Ralph had lived in Florida for twenty-one years before recently moving to Litchfield.

In addition to her husband, Ethel will be missed by her brother Charles White and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012at 2:00pm at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
